At the concerts of the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester the traditional and classical meet the innovative and modern – and unite to create a unique musical experience full of emotion. A very successful mix: in 2015, the Gewandhausorchester was crowned ‘one of the best orchestras in the world’ by a panel of renowned music critics.

Porsche is proud of its global partnership with this internationally esteemed ensemble, whose high-calibre musicians carry the 'Made in Leipzig' seal of quality out into the wide world beyond – as we do with our Cayenne, Panamera and Macan sports car ranges, with 650 of these models rolling off the lines every day at our production site in Saxony in order to be shipped to customers around the globe.

At least as important as its positive external impact is the contribution that the Gewandhausorchester makes to cultural life in the Free State of Saxony. As a partner of the ensemble we have a long-term commitment to a vibrant cultural scene in Leipzig and the region.

We demonstrate that, for example, through the popular 'Klassik airleben' summer concert series, which since 2014 has again transformed Leipzig's Rosental park into an 'open-air concert hall for all' – for me personally a very special highlight in the calendar, for which I'm always delighted to return to Leipzig. That shows once again that for Porsche, the sports car manufacturer from Swabia, Saxony has long since become a second home. We feel at home here - and committed to the region.

I would be delighted to be able to welcome you, along with the world-class musicians, in Leipzig's Rosental park in July 2016.
