Second "Boston-Woche"

With the inauguration of Andris Nelsons as Gewandhauskapellmeister in February 2018, who is also chief conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 2014, a unique partnership between these two world-class orchestras began. The highlight of the partnership in each season is the "Boston-Woche" in Leipzig and the "Leipzig Week" in Boston, which sheds light on the history of each other's orchestras and hosts reciprocal guest concerts.

The second "Boston-Woche" in Leipzig, taking place in the fall of 2018, also marks the start of the Gewandhaus season. Andris Nelsons opens the new season together with the Gewandhausorchester and a programme that has many references to the BSO's history.
